Mark Ryden - Amanda

"Of his concept, he said: "When I was considering a subject for Cat Art Show, I remembered a comment Amanda Seyfried had made in an article in @wmag about wanting to have me paint her with a cat. Amanda has a captivating face and beauty, she is a great subject for a painting. I thought it would be interesting to actually carry out her idea."
Here is her quote:
"I’d like to do a project where I’m his muse in some way. I would love for him to paint a caricature of me, with blood trickling down my throat and me holding a dead cat. It’s morbid and fun and dark, obviously, but I love that."

Mark Ryden currently lives and works in Los Angeles.”

Jennybird Alcantara - Don't Stir The Hive

"Jennybird Alcantara is an artist living in San Francisco CA. The majority of her work is oil paintings on wood she also creates acrylic works on paper and art dolls inspired by her paintings. Her work has at its core a dreamlike narrative and through her paintings she contemplates the complex interconnectedness of opposites as seen through the prism of myth, fable and fantasy. Jennybird uses the symbolism of duality to explore the connection of life and death and the veil in between, as well as the relationship between the beauty and cruelness of nature, that of the natural world as well as human and animal nature. The anthropomorphic qualities in her characters show the relationship of the central figure to the world she inhabits.relationship between the beauty and cruelness of nature, that of the natural world as well as human and animal nature. Antonella Montes (Lantomo) - Octopus Part II

"Lantomo, pseudonym of Antonella Montes, is an Italian artist based in Barcelona, working between Spain, Italy and China. Her drawings are a diary of characters caught in the flat surface on which they are created, trying to get free, like metamorphic beings; faces that hide their engraved emotions and memories. Experimenting with wood, a warm and unique material, using tools and aesthetics belonging to the contemporary illustration, Lantomo creates an imaginary world of characters frozen at the instant in which they express themselves. Pencil, charcoal, acrylics and inks are her basic painting elements, usually working with mixed technique and a preference for black, white and red." - lantomo.com
